via NJ.com – When Melissa Capo and her husband Mark decided to relocate from Maryland to the New York City area, their search for a new home took them to Jersey City. They were particularly captivated by The Beacon, the collection of historic Art Deco buildings reborn as modern residential properties with incomparable indoor and outdoor amenities.

Impressed by the spacious residences, stunning views and warmth of the staff,  the Capos decided The Beacon was the ideal place to live.

“The people we came across at The Beacon were pleasant and welcoming,” Melissa said. “My husband and I loved the diversity of both the staff and the tenants, as well as the breathtaking views and luxurious amenities. Everything we experienced convinced us that we wanted to be a part of The Beacon community.”

The couple signed a lease, moved in and discovered their first impressions were accurate. They met so many friendly neighbors that they decided to invite them to a wine-tasting party.

The tasting quickly became a monthly affair with a growing guest list. As a result, “Wine Wednesdays” is a touring event, so to speak, hosted by a different Beacon resident on the first Wednesday evening of every month.

“We began hosting the monthly wine tasting to build a rapport with our neighbors, network and meet fellow tenants,” Melissa said. “Now Wine Wednesdays is featured in a different building every month. Through this event and other community happenings, residents are more united than ever and seem to enjoy meeting people and making new friends.”

For Melissa, the comfort, luxury and camaraderie she and Mark have experienced since moving to The Beacon have helped them lead the lifestyle they were looking for when they relocated.  In fact, her fondness of the community and her neighbors has grown so strong that she recently took on an official position with the property management team.

“It’s been six wonderful months of great service and meeting new people,” Melissa said.

The Beacon’s ornate buildings have been restored by Building and Land Technology (BLT) to recapture the dramatic architectural details and historic grandeur of their Art Deco-era origins while blending perfectly with newly created rental residences that are modern and chic.  Studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments — priced from $1,595 a month — feature high ceilings and gourmet chef’s kitchens with granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances and garbage disposals. Elegant baths are adorned with cultured marble vanity tops, tile floors and glass shower doors. Each residence also offers central heating and air conditioning and individual washers and dryers.

Individuality and a broad range of options reign supreme at The Beacon.

The Paramount building rises 23 stories and features some of the most dramatic spaces and distinctive architectural elements found within the residential collection.

The Tower, a 15-story, 128-unit building, is 100 percent smoke and pet free, and includes a landscaped Zen Garden with comfortable seating and fire pit, and a 15th-floor sky lounge in its amenity offering.

The Beacon offers unrivaled open space, including the 45,000-square-foot Overlook Park. The park offers panoramic Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor views, numerous grills, seating areas, a 2-acre park with children’s playground, organic garden spaces and expansive dog runs. These substantial recreation areas make The Beacon among the greenest urban residential communities in the region.

Beacon residents enjoy complimentary shuttle service to the Grove Street and Exchange Place PATH/Ferry stations, and proximity to Jersey City’s vibrant downtown district, which includes numerous New York Waterway Ferry terminals and PATH stations, as well as new restaurants, cafes, coffee houses and cultural attractions.  In addition, the new Citi Bike Jersey City bike-sharing program includes a station at The Beacon.
