CoolVines and Maxwell Alley to Host Four September Wine Events In Jersey City

CoolVines and Maxwell Alley in Jersey City will hold four wine events this month. On September 9, the Wine Academy presents “Wine Essentials: The Shape of Wine” with wine director Tim Farrell, covering fundamentals like tannins, acidity, and body for beginners.

On September 13, Maxwell Alley hosts “An Aussie Affair,” a guided tasting with Australian winemakers Tim Smith and Hamish Thomson. Thomson’s family has owned Best’s Great Western in Victoria for generations, marking its 160th anniversary this year, while Smith is a noted Barossa Valley winemaker known for Rhone-inspired wines including Grenache, Shiraz, and Roussanne.

The Wine Academy returns on September 23 with “Wine Essentials: Describing Flavor,” also led by Farrell, focused on common wine tasting descriptors.

Maxwell Alley closes out the month on September 26 with its Autumn Walkaround Wine Tasting, featuring more than thirty wines including Barolo, Burgundy, and Champagne, along with vermouth, amaro, and aperitif liqueurs. Wines will be available for purchase, and admission includes a $15 credit toward purchase.

Tickets for all four events are available through CoolVines.
