“Projects like The Agnes take time and for a long time there was nothing happening on the west side of Jersey City,” Mayor Fulop said.  “These buildings weren’t happening.  There wasn’t a lot of interest from the development community.  We’re really focused on changing that and are proud of what we’ve been able to do.  The NJCU complex will absolutely be transformational, and you see the investment in Bayfront which will be one of the largest mixed-income communities in the entire northeast. Developers like Fields Grade that have been invested in downtown predominately prior to The Agnes are looking into this area and investing in projects in other parts of the city.  The only way to get change into a community is to work with the private sector and incentivize people in a proper way to attract small business, create a more walkable community and offer all the things that are important for young people to want to be in the city.  Congratulations to everyone.  We’re excited about The Agnes and look forward to more investments on the west side of Jersey City.”

“The Agnes and its leasing success are further proof of the need and demand for new residential options west of the city’s waterfront and established downtown neighborhoods,” said Rob Caulfield, a principal at Fields Grade.  “Mayor Fulop and his administration have done an admirable job encouraging new development in these emerging communities.  We’re proud to have invested in this location and are delighted to see the public responding so enthusiastically.”

The Agnes features a collection of studio, one- and two-bedroom residences, with net-effective monthly rents starting at $1,540 with grand opening incentives that include up to four months free for a limited time. Well-appointed residences are adorned with premium stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, custom kitchen cabinet colors, in-home washer and dryer, built-in custom closets and desks, and oak plank flooring.  Select floorplans include dens for additional living and entertaining space with the flexibility to utilize it as a home office or for visiting guests.  Residents can also customize their contemporary living spaces with stunning paint colors chosen by the design team through a partnership with Backdrop.

The building boasts 10,000+ square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities and inspiring connections to Jersey City’s cultural fabric.  Highlighting the complete lifestyle experience at The Agnes is an outdoor pool and landscaped courtyard, club room, public and private workspaces, a relaxing lounge with a fireplace, state-of-the-art fitness center, communal kitchen, playroom, bike storage, and a dog run and dog wash. Creatives will find inspiration for their upcoming projects or just a great setting to enjoy some free time at the building’s HUSH artbook library.  Street-level retail space will include a wellness-focused café called The Nell featuring local coffee roaster Afficianado Roasters.

The Agnes will also showcase a unique collaboration with contemporary artists, photographers, literary experts, and designers to create a deep connection between residents and Jersey City’s celebrated creative spirit.   A visual preview can be found on the Fields Grade Instagram page.  With The Agnes as its hub, Fields Grade has plans to concentrate on the arts and hopes to create skill development opportunities for community members.
