Please join the members of St. Joseph’s School for The Blind’s Adult Services Program as they exhibit a unique collection of works in various art mediums. Exploration in Art is a journey inspired by and facilitated by professional artist and instructor, Bojana Coklyat, under the direction of Art House Executive Director, Christine Goodman.
Bojana worked for nine weeks with a group of adults living with disabilities who are part of the adult services program provided by Sanctus of school for the blind. Each Wednesday they would meet and create new artwork in the Art House Productions black box theater space. There were participants who were scared at first to come to our house but then learned to love these art classes. There were also folks who were excited from the get-go and loved it so much they decided to make a song about their experience. Some of the participants said it all went by way way too quickly.
The artwork was made possible by a grant from the Hudson County Cultural Affairs and Ellen at Saint Joseph’s School for The Blind, who coordinated the grant process.
