Biggest Surati Lights of Diwali 2018

Surati for Performing Arts  in partnership with  Art House brings the largest, most culturally relevant Diwali festival in the East coast to the people of Jersey City and beyond which will run for 4 days.

Diwali celebrates light over darkness and good over evil and this year people will celebrate three-fold with three distinct events.

Rimli Roy’s “RAMAAVAN” – A Musical – An original Broadway style production with world genres – songs, Indian classical and contemporary dance theater, drama, song, opera… that links the story of Diwali with Prince Ram from India and King Ravan from Lanka. Inspired by the Indian epic tale of love, courage, revenge and righteousness – “The Ramayana”.

Comedy Open Mic at Art House

Open Mics are now every Thursday at 7pm! 

$5 gets you five to seven minutes of performance time. All spots are first come, first served. Comedy open mics will happen every Thursday at Art House and the last Thursday of the month is open to all performance artists (comedians, musicians, poets, spoken word artists, etc)! Come out and hone your skills in a fun and supportive performance environment.

Jersey City’s premiere quarterly arts festival features arts events that take place in restaurants, galleries, stores, and event spaces in almost every neighborhood of our great city. Our 50th JC FRIDAYS will showcase a variety of happenings including visual art exhibitions, live music, performance acts, educational demonstrations, and more. All events are free and open to the public. PRIDE NIGHT Performance of Grace, or the Art of Climbing

Art House Productions is partnering with Hudson Pride for a special performance of Grace, or the Art of Climbing to celebrate LGBTQ+ community in the Jersey City area. Following the performance will be a reception for audience to mingle with Cast and Creative team

The theater is located at 262 17th Street, Jersey City, NJ 07310 (part of the Cast Iron Lofts Building)
It is off of the Hoboken stop on the PATH train toward Hoboken (1 stop after the Christopher Street stop in West Village.) And then a breezy 10-15 minute walk from the Hoboken PATH train stop to the theater! Continue reading →

Come out and celebrate with this city-wide festival on Friday, March 2nd, 2018. Restaurants, galleries, stores, and event spaces throughout Jersey City will showcase a variety of art-related happenings including visual exhibitions, live music, performance acts, educational demonstrations, and more.

All events are free and open to the public.

As one of the preeminent art scenes in the tri-state area, Jersey City is abound with artists of all types, musicians, and individuals with unique talent; JC Fridays is one of the best times for them to share their newest projects and works. Held quarterly, thousands of residents pour out to experience these artists’ latest works and to revel in the joy art brings to the community.

SNOW BALL is a creative black tie gala to benefit Art House’s innovative arts programs and features live music, light fare, open bar, silent and live auctions, and a festive, arts-friendly crowd! VIP tickets include a 7pm champagne reception with Snow Ball honorees Lou Mont and Sandy Weiss of Manhattan Building Company, first look at our silent auction, and an exclusive performance.

A December Chill – An Immersive Theatrical Event at the Libary

Similar to “Sleep No More”, Art House Productions brings you “A December Chill”, an immersive theatrical event taking place on all four floors of the Jersey City Main Library. Guests will follow performers around the library as the action unfolds. Each audience member will have a unique experience based on the performer they choose to follow. Afterwards, audience members will want to share their experience with friends and family as this event will be sure to titillate, spook, and provoke. “A December Chill” will also feature an exclusive VIP bar with passed hors d’oeuvres. Story influences from Shakespeare, Stephen King, Tolstoy, and more. While AHP is committed to accessibility at our venue, please note that this event is off-site and not fully accessible.
