Macy’s, Liberty State Park fireworks seen from roof of historic Jersey City building

The Beacon in the center of Jersey City has a rich history as the Art Deco site of the former Jersey City Medical Center, built by infamous Frank “I Am the Law” Hague in the Great Depression.

The Baldwin Avenue complex, now luxury rental apartments, also happens to be uniquely situated to have had a view of last night’s Macy’s fireworks show on the East River and Jersey City’s fireworks show in Liberty State Park.

Management extended an invitation to The Jersey Journal to have a photographer rooftop at “The Tower” building last night. Here are scenes by Michael Dempsey.
