Local Dancer becomes Principal at Martha Graham

2014-06-24_11-44-22Congratulations to Jersey City dancer PeiJu Chien-Pott on her recent promotion to Principal Dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Company!

PeiJu Chien-Pott was recently promoted to Principal Dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Company, one of the world’s most renowned dance companies.

Ms. Chien-Pott achieved widespread acclaim for her recent performances at the Graham Company’s New York City Season this April where she premiered the leading roles in dances by Nacho Duato and Andonis Foniadakis.PeiJu’s performances were singled out by The New York Times, Dance Magazine, and many other publications.

In addition to an international touring schedule with the Graham company, PeiJu performs regularly with Nimbus Dance Works, including in the company’s recent Jersey City Season in Francesca Harper’s duet Backspace and in Turkish choreographer Korhan Basaran’s Untitled.
