ECO-FRIENDLY MADOX IN PAULUS HOOK GAINS NATIONAL RECOGNITION WITH GOLD AWARD FROM PROFESSIONAL BUILDER

Downtown Jersey City, NJ Rental Building Cited for Green Design

Madox SMALLJERSEY CITY, N.J. – Madox, the 131-home eco-friendly rental building being developed by Fields Development Group in Jersey City’s historic Paulus Hook, is beginning to gain national recognition for its environmentally-conscience building practices and design and responsible approach to urban redevelopment.

The seven-story building recently received a “Gold Award” for Green Design in the 2012 Professional Builder Design Awards. The award will be presented during the International Builder’s Show taking place this January in Las Vegas.

Judge by a panel of prominent architects from around the country, the awards recognize companies and buildings that produce homes that illustrate design quality and success in the marketplace. Madox received high marks for each of the judging criteria, including Exterior Design/Curb Appeal, Interior Architecture, Sales/Marketing Success, Construction Quality/Cost Efficiency and Green Features.

Madox is on schedule to earn the first LEED certification for a residential building in Jersey City. Green elements incorporated into Madox include a PV Solar Array and vegetation on the roof, electric car charging stations, and systems to reduce water consumption by over 45% and energy consumption by 14%. The building will also be under contract for at least two years to provide 35% of its electricity from renewable sources.
