WANDERING MOTION: Artist Talk & Closing Reception

PRIME Gallery is pleased to announce the Artist Talk & Closing Reception for their current exhibition, Wandering Motion, an exploration of light and motion through multiple mediums of art. Open to multiple interpretations, each piece is a reflection and revealment of self. Join the featured artists, Alissa Laurie, Maria De Los Angeles, Ginger Del Ray, Danielle-Marie Muneca Mullins, Danielle Russo and Kayt Hester as they discuss the making of their thought-provoking works of art.

Halloween Bash

On Saturday, October 28th, join us for a spooktacular afternoon of family-friendly chills, thrills and fun for ghosts and witches of all ages! The fun starts at 3pm and continues until 7pm with a kids’ costume contest, a kids’ parade around the park, and trick-or-treating from our fabulous sponsors at stations throughout the park.

Events include: 
Halloween parade for children ten and under
Parade starts promptly at 3:00 p.m. (line-up starts at 2:30 p.m.)

Costume contest with four categories: Family, Kids ages 0-3, 4-7 & 8-10. Entry fee for the contest is $5 per entry. Contestants must register through Evenbrite. Contestants entering in the family category count as one entry. Contest starts promptly at 4:30 p.m.

The art is by local Jersey City High School seniors that are enrolled in the JC Arts program out of Synder High School. The seniors presenting their work (this is the second of two shows at the gallery) are all going to prestigious art schools upon graduation. Central Avenue Auto & Music Show

img_4627The next Central Avenue Auto and Music Show,” is now scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2017 between 11 AM and 5 PM (rain or shine) in Central Avenue’s municipal parking lot (352 Central) (near Lincoln and Bowers Street). No streets will be closed during the event.

This event features:

  • A mix of classic and exotic cars;
  • Several ours of entertainment featuring a dynamic lineup of performers
  • Several exhibitors and numerous local participating businesses;
  • Children activities including face painting, balloons, and give-a-ways;
  • And an unforgettable day of family-friendly fun for the entire community.

The “Central Avenue Auto and Music Show” is organized by the Central Avenue Special Improvement District Management Corporation in partnership with Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, Councilman Ward D, Michael Yun, the City of Jersey City Municipal Council and Division of Cultural Affairs, Hudson County Executive Thomas A. DeGise and Board of Chosen Freeholders. The event is hosted by the Central Avenue shopping district and is creative placemaking at its best. It is an exciting spring affair in the neighborhood that helps our shopping district connect with residents and shoppers in new fun ways.

Big Spring Cleanup


Spring cleaning time! Bring everything you need to get rid of down to Riverview Park, in partnership with JC Sanitation, we’ll be accepting and providing the following services:

– Secure Paper Shredding (thank you All American Recycling)
– General household refuse, includes large items (no construction)
– Electonic Waste (all E-waste, batteries and small appliances)
– HazMat waste (paints, chemicals, cleaners, engine oil)
– Tires (max of 4)
– Donations for Salvation Army

No need to go down to DPW or arrange for a pickup, just bring everything down to the park and be done with it. All are welcome!

‘The Archer’ Group Reaches to New Heights, Takes Over Former Trolley Car Bar

low-fidelity-328-palisade-ave-jersey-cityvia JerseyDigs – One of Downtown Jersey City’s most popular cocktail joints will soon be expanding to a spot on the cliffside, as the owners of The Archer will soon be bringing their concoctions to 328 Palisade Avenue.

The restaurant, known for their small plate dining and creative cocktails, will be taking over the old Trolley Car Bar space in The Heights. The group just closed Thursday on a lease at the property and will be opening a different concept from The Archer that will be called Low Fidelity Bar.
