Jersey City Connects is hosting its annual Party With Purpose 5K and after party on Tuesday, July 28, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Pier A Park in Hoboken. The race is one of the largest in Hoboken, and every registration helps fund local youth organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of Hudson County, HOPES, Mile Square Theater, and Community Lifestyle.
The event is run entirely by volunteers through a nonprofit that has supported the community since 2002, having contributed more than a million dollars to children’s programs in the area over the years. Runners looking to join a group can meet beforehand at Carlo’s Bakery at 6:30 p.m. before heading to the starting line. The race itself begins and ends at Pier A at 7 p.m., followed by an after party featuring live music and a beer and wine garden on the pier.

To register, participants should visit RunSignUp, create an account, and select the JC Connects team. Entering the code JCConnects at checkout takes $5 off the registration price. Jersey City Connects, founded in September 2021, describes its mission as building community connections and creating positive shared experiences through local events.
