The slimy, stinky and oozy aspects of human biology take center stage at Jersey City’s Liberty Science Center this summer.
At the museum’s newest exhibit, “Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body,” visitors are invited to explore the science behind bodily functions.
Based on the book “Grossology” by Sylvia Branzei, the exhibit uses animatronics and displays to illuminate the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and much more.
Through a series of immersive play zones, guests will be able to explore and learn the why’s and how’s of the human body. At the “Vomit Center,” the “Toot Toot,” and the “Burp Machine,” guests experience the process of vomiting and food digestion, create different sounds that replicate the physics of gas, and mimic the build up of acid indigestion.
Guests are also able to climb a human skin wall with warts, hairs, wounds and other objects that act as hand and foot holds, as they explore the many ways our body keeps us healthy.
