Attendance for sailing is back and at a rise as COVID decreases. With people leaving their homes more often now, the NY Waterway’s are experiencing more riders.
According to nj.com, “It attracted nearly 11,000 last weekend, which is comparable to pre-COVID ridership when adjusting for the limited number of routes that are running, a spokesman said.”
“Week by week, month by month, we’re coming back,” said NY Waterway Chairman, President and CEO Armand Pohan. “We’re seeing more commuters on weekdays and more recreational riders on the weekends. And we know this is just the beginning of the trend.”
Although the ferries are still on a modified schedule, the company is tracking the demand and will accommodate if need be.
