The innovative idea to provide a one-of-a-kind wellness and health lifestyle at a Hudson County multi-family property has sprouted a new and creative yoga and lifestyle studio at The Cliffs Collection based on elements of Blue Zone Living which emphasizes a balance of diet, good habits and social engagement to initiate healthier, happier and longer lives.  And now this trailblazing new center is preparing to open its doors to the public.

Called SANCRI- Yoga-Wellness-Lifestyle, the holistic studio is located in the five-story building at 100 Paterson Plank Road on Jersey City’s Hoboken border.  It features massage and body treatments, yoga room with yoga and meditation classes, amethyst bio mat, an oxygen bar, as well as a complete wellness events calendar featuring workshops, health programs and expected cooking classes tied into nutritional speakers.   There’s also a fully-equipped fitness center with Himalayan salt sauna.

SANCRI and its programming is headed by Health & Wellness Director Kristina Haug, who  possesses over a decade of studying advanced yoga practices, including under the personal guidance of Swami Dwarkanand for the past three years.  Ms. Haug perfectly blends her knowledge of holistic principals with a background in hospilatilty to deliver the ideal wellness and luxury lifestyle at The Cliffs Collection and effectively meet and exceed the health and leisure needs of outside clients. SANCRI is staffed by seasoned instructors and wellness professionals.

“SANCRI caters to your body, mind and soul,” Ms. Haug says.  “Hudson County has very few, if any, residential buildings that focus on improving the health and living standards of the people. It’s a unique concept as we truly embrace the idea of urban blue zone living and continuously try to create awareness on how to improve your life and implement small but powerful healthy habits that will led to longer and happier life’s. Convenience is one major aspect in this approach. We are providing services that that are currently inexistent in the Hoboken/ Jersey City area and we are placing them all under one roof! We’re excited to offer this comprehensive package of services and treatments to the public for the first time.”

Blue Zones are geographic regions worldwide where residents share common lifestyle traits.  SANCRI ties into the blue zone living concept through the powerful commonalities that ultimately lead to longer and happier lives, including community and belonging events, physical exercise, relaxation & wellness and diet.

“SANCRI offers a completely holistic wellness approach to the community,” Ms. Haug continues.  “With our services expanding from regular yoga and meditation classes to Ayurvedic inspired holistic body treatments and the alternative approach of using preventative medicinal devices like the amethyst bio matt while encouraging a regular use of the Himalayan salt sauna we cover a wide variety of naturopathic and preventive health practices which can’t be found in the area.”

The original concept of SANCRI was a collaboration between Ms. Haug and Sanford Weiss, CEO of Manhattan Building Company, developer of The Cliffs Collection.  Mr. Weiss wanted to introduce a platform that would stimulate residents to have healthy habits and make it convenient for them to live active lifestyles. The convenience of having a Himalayan salt sauna, massage treatment room, regular yoga and meditation classes and educational workshops and events on-site dramatically improve the living standards of the residents.
