Sustainable Jersey City Launches Eco-Ambassador Program as Part of Their Annual
Certificate Program In Urban Sustainability at Hudson County Community College
Unique program offers 30 hours / 10 consecutive Monday nites of interactive classes for community stakeholders as primer in sustainability and resiliency.
Local community organization Sustainable Jersey City (SJC) has refreshed its flagship education program to include new learning modules in Wholistic Approaches To Life & Work, Green Infrastructure, Energy Efficiency, Waste Streams and Permaculture, for residents and businesses. CEUs may be available from the US Building Council.
Nine instructors from the region will teach the 10-week course that starts on Monday March 18th, with consecutive Monday evenings, ending May 20th. Each Monday nite session takes place from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Hudson County Community College, a short walk from the Journal Square PATH transit hub.
The course is both personal and community focused. The new SJC Eco-Ambassador Program is nested in the course and candidates who are interested to reduce their waste stream footprints, both Food Waste and Plastics + Other Materials Waste, will be asked to participate in a study case and share details of their efforts over the next year with the assistance of SJC’s EcoAmbassador Program Instructors.
