A recent survey at CareerBliss, an online information hub for job seekers, employers and recruiters, names Jersey city the 2nd happiest place to work in the U.S. Our fair city came within a nose of beating out Miami for the #1 slot.
According to nj.com, factors included one’s relationship with their boss and co-workers, their work environment, job resources, compensation, and growth opportunities — the website assigns a “Bliss rating” for the overall job happiness of workers in each city.
New York checked in at No. 18 on the list, while Brooklyn (which was rated separately from Manhattan) scored a 3.369, good for No. 4 on the list.
Other factors that determined a city’s score were company culture, company reputation, workers’ daily tasks, and job control over the work one does on a daily basis. Each criteria was given a score between 1 and 5 and then averaged together.
