Jersey City Ballet, the newest dance studio to open in JC, offers multiple ballet dance courses for all levels, jazz and hip-hop fundamentals and gyrokinesis – a free-flowing technique that puts an emphasis on long circular movements and benefits posture and alignment.
Located at The Brunswick School at 189 Brunswick Street, the space grand-opened this past June. Their mission: to provide serious dance education for people of all ages who either want to dance for exercise or learn in order to audition for a dance company.
Director of Jersey City Ballet Judith Elins Palacio has been a dance instructor in the NJ/NY area for over twenty years. She studied Ballet, Jazz and Modern extensively in NYC at the New Dance Group, Cecchetti School of Ballet, Alvin Ailey School, City Center, Broadway Dance Center and DNA with some of the greatest teachers in the dance community including Frank Pietri, Stephen Harding, Phil Black, Frank Hatchett, Finis Jhung and Martha Chapman. She has been a faculty member and repertory instructor for youth and adult programs throughout the tristate area and was a principle member of a New Jersey based modern dance ensemble. Be on the lookout for productions by the resident dance company, Jersey City Ballet Theatre, a Non-Profit Organization.
