Create Art & Celebrate!

downloadvia NJ.com – The Jersey City Campus of Conwell School 3 and Middle School 4 is celebrating the beginning of the holiday season by holding a Holiday/Christmas Tree lighting on Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m.

The tree will be made from recyclable materials, specifically green, yellow, and clear 1- and 2-liter plastic bottles. The schools are currently seeking empty bottles for the tree, which can be donated and dropped off at either school.

The creation of the event was spearheaded by Middle School 4 art teacher Diana Gonzalez, with the assistance of School 3 art teacher Lina Paitrelli and students.

The bottles will be collected by students, parents, school staff, and businesses in the community. Ornaments will also be made of recycled paper and plastic.

The Elementary School 3 production of “Winnie the Pooh’s Christmas Carol” and Middle School 4’s production “Mr McGoo’s Christmas Carol” are scheduled for immediately after the tree lighting.

The Conwell Campus, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is located at  107-111 Bright St. in Jersey City.
