Capoeira is a unique art form from Brazil that was created by enslaved Africans and their descendants during the colonial period. It combines fighting skills with dance and game, music, self-expression and many other elements. Capoeiristas, or practitioners of capoeira, develop flexibility and strength, stealth and cunning, skills in singing and playing musical instruments. Today, capoeira has grown massively in popularity, and is being taught in over 100 countries around the world.
