Honestly! You had me at Werewolf!

WEREWOLFATHON, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23RD.

Yes! You read that right! Neil Genslinger at The New York Times celebrates the season with a post on this Friday night’s Werewolfathon at The Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater.

The Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater always has fun around Halloween, and this time it’s offering a werewolfathon. It begins at 8 with a classic-cinema double feature, “Werewolf of London” (1935), with Henry Hull, and “The Wolf Man” (1941), with Lon Chaney Jr. in the title role. “Though we never did get a really good look,” the reviewer for The New York Times wrote, “we’d say that most of the budget was spent on Mr. Chaney’s face, which is rather terrifying, resembling as it does a sort of Mr. Hyde badly in need of a shave.”

Then, at 10:30 (and with separate admission) comes a third, decidedly more modern take on the mythical creature, “An American Werewolf in London,” from 1981. If that’s not enough scary stuff for you, the next night Loew’s has “Horror Hotel” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”
