Natural Causes Opening Reception

TONIGHT at the Bowers Gallery & ArtSpace

Natural Causes, curated to support the Rush Education Year of Nature and will be visited by classes from Rush partnership school PS 6 in Jersey City, celebrates the astounding natural resources in our midst, addresses humankind’s deep devastation of nature, and aims to stir up positive fervor to do our best to cherish and protect our environment as we go forward. I do believe that we can and must find it in our nature and for our nature to care and to care deeply.

Meridith McNeal, Curator

Rush Arts is dedicated to providing underserved youth with contemporary art education, and developing and supporting artists, curators and new audiences.

Carnival of Dreams Opening Reception

Saturday, January 20th at 107 Bowers Gallery & Art Space

In their first showing in New Jersey, Johnnie Grinder and Orange Li will exhibit original works of art exploring their worlds.

Johnnie is a nomadic artist best known for his pipe structures that symbolically connect memories, dreams, experiences, and knowledge.

Orange’s early trauma in life grew into a strong feeling for feminist issues and always leads her to think deeply about the meaning of life. Her art is a hybrid of Asian and Western elements, filled with the philosophical, historical, and psychological ideas.

The art is by local Jersey City High School seniors that are enrolled in the JC Arts program out of Synder High School. The seniors presenting their work (this is the second of two shows at the gallery) are all going to prestigious art schools upon graduation. All work sold during their show, will go straight into their pockets for art supplies and school. One student in the show last week sold 3 pieces alone! www.107bowersgallery.com
